Could Your Exhaustion Be Related To Your Thyroid Function?

Extreme Fatigue.jpg

Did you know that thyroid disease affects roughly 20 million Americans? It’s true, but what’s more alarming is that 60% of those with this condition don't even know that they have a problem. Women are five to eight times more likely to develop a thyroid condition in their life. In fact, one in eight women will have a thyroid issue.

Like many women, when I started having problems with my thyroid I dismissed my symptoms as just being exhausted from everyday life. I thought that because I had two kids and I had just started my career it was normal to be tired. I thought something wasn’t quite right when I started feeling like I had no energy, began gaining weight, and my libido plummeted. When my sleep started becoming interrupted and I started suffering from insomnia I knew I had to get to the bottom of this.

I went to my doctor and my lab results came back without any issues. My doctor told me that there wasn’t anything wrong with me and that I was probably just tired and stressed. I decided to dig a little deeper and what I found was that my antibodies were quite elevated and nobody had even looked at those markers. It turned out I was already starting to develop a thyroid issue even though my numbers were within range.

Unfortunately, by the time regular lab results show numbers outside of the range, the thyroid problem has already been there for quite a while. When this happens it's much harder to reverse the imbalance. At this point, many patients are wondering why they are gaining weight, have brain fog, do not have the patience they once had with their kids, and what's causing their libido to decline.

If this sounds like something you are experiencing, I understand how you feel and I’d love to help you get back to feeling like yourself. Schedule a consultation with me https://bit.ly/2BC1ZXX. Let’s see if we can work together to improve your health.
